At North Shore Eating Disorders we prioritize referrals of young people experiencing restrictive eating/compulsive exercise and other symptoms related to weight loss.

When it comes to treating eating disorders in children and adolescents, parents or guardians play an essential role. Their active participation in both the assessment and treatment processes is often critical for achieving successful outcomes.

By collaborating closely with the family, we can provide the necessary support for the young person to reach and maintain a healthy weight while also addressing the psychological aspects of the disorder.

This cooperative approach creates a nurturing environment that is vital for recovery.

We will discuss which approach may be the best fit based on your young person's age, diagnosis, and your family's unique situation to develop the most effective treatment plan.

  • Family-Based Therapy (FBT),
  • Adolescent Focused Treatment (AFT),
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy-Enhanced (CBT-E).
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for ARFID (CBT – AR)
